From the President

Please allow me to introduce myself to those of you who have not yet met me.

My name is Kim Kilpatrick and after serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of the CFPBA/PEA for the last five years, I write to you as the President and want to update you on recent changes, as well as discuss the future of this great organization.

I have been a part of the CFPBA/PEA since 1999, a membership rep for Port Orange PD since 2002 and on the Executive Committee since 2010. I am currently a lieutenant in Port Orange, where I have been part of three full contract negotiations on behalf of our rank and file. I am a local product, as a graduate of both Flagler-Palm Coast High School and Daytona State, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Supervision. In 2010 I graduated from the Florida Leadership Academy and am honored to have recently been accepted into the FBI National Academy.

The job of serving our many members is not an easy one, nor one I take lightly. Times are changing all around us. Within your agency, recent or pending retirements are creating many opportunities for our membership and with an economy on the rebound, better working conditions and salaries are once again in play for many of us. The staff and I take tremendous pride in advocating for you, both in defense of your job and at the bargaining table. The year is already off to a hot start for many units and I can sense 2017 is going to be a year of prosperity, provided we all work together to achieve this common goal.

Remember, as a member you have access to our highly seasoned team of legal and labor professionals. We are an aggressive, politically active labor organization and we are here to give you a voice in the day to day affairs in your agency. We are ready to “Protect the Protectors.”

Please, remember to call the office or visit our website if you have moved, change your phone number or would like to update your beneficiary information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office at 800-625-5451 between the hours of 8:30 to 4:30pm.  We are on call 24 hours a day for an emergency to serve you!
